3 jelly bodies, plastic bags, vacuum pump, compressed air
DMT Loods, ‘s-Hertogenbosch (2010)
The bag is filled with air, inflates, the plastic rounds out until the moulding copy of my body is lying there like a mummy in a cylinder shaped showcase. An eternity seems to pass before the pump starts retracting the air from the bag and slowly pulls a vacuum . The body with its tight plastic sealing calls to mind the prepacked meat products from the supermarket. Three figures are lying next to each other in this fashion, their existence artificially extended, a memory in decay. Breath in, breath out.
