ceramic bones, sand
Midgetgolf! – DMT Loods, ‘s-Hertogenbosch (2010)
For an exhibition with a miniature golf theme I made a course with skeletons buried under the sand. Visitors who play the game run the risk of hitting a skull as if accidentally uncovering some kind of mass grave – after all those can be found in the strangest places. How is it possible that we go through life more or less carefree while we know how much injustice there is in the world? The answer comes from the audience: whenever a bone comes protruding from the sand, they immediately cover it up.
